How to clean pasted text
Paste the original on the left, select the changes you want and choose Clean text. The result appears on the right. Copy and Download text use the cleaned result. Your original stays available so you can change the options and run it again.
Choose only the changes you need
Collapse extra spaces replaces repeated horizontal whitespace, including tabs, with a single space. Trim line edges removes whitespace at the start and end of each line. Remove blank lines deletes empty rows. Remove duplicate lines keeps the first occurrence of each identical line. Join lines turns remaining line breaks into spaces.
A practical example
An address list copied from a spreadsheet may contain tabs, empty rows and repeated entries. Turn on space cleanup, trimming, blank-line removal and duplicate-line removal to create a compact list. Leave Join lines off so each address stays on its own line. Avoid using this cleaner on source code or tabular data where indentation and tabs carry meaning.
Frequently asked questions
Are duplicate lines case-sensitive?
Yes. “London” and “london” are different lines. Duplicate removal happens after the space and trimming options, so differently spaced copies can become a single line.
Will it remove punctuation or change my words?
No. This tool changes whitespace and removes duplicate or blank lines only when selected. It does not correct grammar, rewrite sentences or change letter case.
